Mumbai, 26th August 2025 – Eternal Capital, the venture capital fund established by ex-BharatPe COO Dhruv Dhanraj Bahl, has announced it will be changing its name to Sadev Ventures.

The rebrand is intended to align the fund with its family office brand, which has represented the values and vision of the fund for a long time. The company stated the rebrand also allows the fund to stay true to its India-first strategy and, in some cases, help its portfolio companies scale overseas with global investors and strategic partners.

Focus Beyond Capital

Speaking about the change, Bahl said the new name reflects the next step in the fund’s journey. “As our vision goes deeper into India’s entrepreneurial fabric while simultaneously tapping financial, social & intellectual capital pools across borders, it’s the right time to scale under an identity that has resonated with all our longstanding stakeholders. It also shifts the focus away from a ‘capital-only’ play and reinforces our commitment to enabling ventures that can become generational institutions,”

Early-Stage Investment Strategy

Sadev Ventures started to operate in mid-2024 and takes an early-stage investment approach between seed and pre-Series A rounds. Sadev Ventures is a sector-agnostic fund, and it will invest across business sectors, and typically writes cheques of ₹2-6 crore.

The fund is a ₹120 crore fund with a greenshoe option of ₹120 crore. It has already committed about half its corpus to 20 startups. Some of its portfolio companies are Asaya, Cleevo, Cookd, Gladful, Hypergro, Bidso, and Liquide.

Future Growth Plans

In the future, Sadev Ventures plans to focus on investing in startups that have attained product-market fit, i.e. the company has a proven product and customers. It’s also focused on companies that can demonstrate high growth potential in profitable growth and support the ability to build sustainable revenue models.

The fund also has an operator-led model as it is run by those who have been involved in startups and have seen the challenges founders deal with. The fund describes their unique value proposition as “colour of money,” which includes the financial investment along with empathy for founders, mentorship, and access to powerful networks.

Creating Sustainable Institutions

The rebranding indicates Bahl’s intention to create more than just another venture capital firm. By combining India-based practices with global opportunities, Sadev Ventures aims to develop startups into powerful, sustainable companies.

For many founders, this approach might offer the blend of capital and support to help them scale into the next generation of Indian institutions.
