Mumbai, August 19, 2025 – Cedar-IBSi Capital, an investment firm focused on FinTech, has received tremendous support from the leading institutional investors and from more than 20 family offices as it moves towards the final close of its first fund.

The fund has already raised ₹100 crore in firm commitments and another ₹10 to 15 crore in soft commitments. It plans on completing the final close very shortly.

Pinnacle of finance

Cedar-IBSi Capital’s institutional investors include Muthoot Finance, IIFL Capital, and an undisclosed royal family from the Middle East, which will be announced shortly. On the family office side of the firm, the investors include Apar Industries, Varroc Engineering, the Taparia family, and the family office owned by the Dr. Reddy’s family, among others.

The fund is interesting because of its specialist expertise within FinTech, opportunity for co-investments, and ability to access the purposeful Cedar platform and its deep industry expertise and networks.

Investment orientation

The fund aims to invest primarily at the Pre-Series A and Series A rounds, usually as the first institutional investor. The fund typically invests $500k to $1 million in the first round and reserves funds for follow-on rounds.

Cedar-IBSi Capital aims to build a portfolio of 10-15 companies. To this end, the fund has invested in:

  • Cogniquest, which specializes in intelligent document processing.
  • WonderLend Hubs a cloud-based incentive compensation platform.
  • A third investment is expected soon, with the fund also reviewing opportunities in AI in financial services.
