Mumbai, 28 July 2025 – Shares of Adani Green Energy rose 3% today on the BSE, closing at ₹1,004 after the company reported solid earnings for the first quarter of fiscal year 2025-26 (Q1 FY26).

Profit and Revenue Increase

Adani Green’s net profit was a 31% increase compared to last year. For the April–June quarter, the company reported a profit of ₹824 crore, compared to ₹629 crore in Q1 FY25.

Profit attributable to shareholders was up 60% year on year at ₹713 crore, from ₹446 crore a year ago.

Total revenue from operations increased by 29% to ₹4,006 crores from ₹3,112 crores in the same quarter last year. The company’s core business – supply of power earned ₹3,312 crores which is an increase of 31% from ₹2,528 crores a year earlier.

Renewable Energy Capacity Reaches New Peak 

“Operational capacity increased by 45% YoY to 15.8 GW, with an addition of 4.9 GW over the last one year,” the company said. It includes 1.6 GW of new capacity in the April–June quarter alone. “AGEL’s operational RE capacity now stands 15.8 GW, continuing to be the largest in India,” the company said. “with this quarter exceeding annual energy sales of FY22 (3 years ago),” the company said.

Energy sales in the quarter were up 42%, to 10,479 million units, “with this quarter exceeding annual energy sales of FY22 (3 years ago),” the company said.  noted that it sold more energy in the quarter than it did for the entire financial year 2021-22.

Market Update and Stock Performance

While the stock gained post-Q1 results, it remains down 3.4% in 2025 and is down 44% in the last year. The stock did recover 7.5% in the last three months.

From a technical point of view, the stock is trading in 6 out of the 8 key moving averages, such as the 5-day, 10-day, and 200-day moving averages. The stock does appear above the 100-day and 150-day moving averages.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) currently sits at 41.5 indicating the stock is neither overbought or oversold. The most recent MACD is 5.3 showing a slight positive trend, although not strong.

Little synopsis: Adani Green Energy’s solid performance in the June quarter—including increased profit, more power generation, and greater renewable capacity—has contributed to investor confidence levels. Although the stock price has had its ups and downs over the past 12 months, the latest quarterly results demonstrate that Adani Green is growing steadily within the renewable energy space.
